ABOUT THE ROLE
Stenda Group is seeking an analytical and results-driven Business Improvement Specialist to drive continuous improvement, operational optimisation and sustainable value creation across our mining and technical services operations. The role combines mining knowledge, data analysis, process improvement, project management and management reporting.
LOCATION: Pretoria, Gauteng Province.
CLOSTING DATE: 22 September 2026 @ 16h00.
TRAVEL: Occasional travel to operations in Mpumalanga and North-West Province.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain a structured Business Improvement methodology and framework across the organisation.
- Drive sustainable value creation through process, systems and value-chain improvement, optimisation and process stabilisation.
- Support operational planning, operational model implementation, performance measurement and KPI development.
- Analyse mining, production and technical reports to identify trends, constraints, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Automate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly production reporting and develop Power BI dashboards for operational and management reporting.
- Collect, analyse and consolidate relevant information for professional management reports and presentations using strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Manage Business Improvement projects from planning through implementation, technical problem-solving and benefits realisation.
- Monitor contractor compliance, governance requirements and operational controls across mining and technical services operations.
- Provide structured technical problem-solving support to operational teams.
- Apply strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, to analyse information and communicate recommendations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
- 2-3+ years’ experience in Business Improvement, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence, preferably in mining.
- Knowledge of underground and open-cast mining operations, process improvement, optimisation and project management.
- Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, report-writing and stakeholder-management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with Power BI and reporting automation experience.
- Experience with operational KPIs, production reporting and contractor management will be advantageous.
